ABOUT US
In 1923 in the heart of Haynie's Corner, The Montrose Apartments were built with MayBelle shortly following. Now the area is designated as HCAD (Haynie's Corner Arts District) and home to many events and festivals. Originally the neighborhood was anchored by Haynie's Drug Store, built in 1895. The three-story drug store building fell victim first to the famous 1930 flood and then a fire. MayBelle was said to be named after the builder's daughter. Both buildings sat vacant for more than 20 years before the property was renovated. One could argue that MayBelle-Montrose now anchors this prominent Evansville corner and neighborhood as a 14 unit apartment complex.
